Port Information

The port of Killybegs is a safe, all weather port situated on the North west coast of Ireland. Killybegs is Ireland's premier fishing port with vessels of many nationalities coming to Killybegs on a regular basis to avail of the facilities at the excellent natural harbour. Since 1997 there has been a steady increase in the volume of oil related traffic with seismic vessels and rig supply vessels calling frequently. There are berthing facilities of over 1200 metres currently available.
Two tug vessels are available locally to assist with berthing. M.V Nomad which has 10 tons bollard pull & M/V Shoalbuster which has 30 tons bollard pull. Both can be arranged by contacting Sinbad Marine Services.

A new pier development which was completed in May 2004 provides a further 300m of quay at 12m of water depth at M.L.W.S and 150m of quay at 9m of water depth at M.L.W.S. There are no tidal, air draught or beam restrictions at the new quay. Quayside power connection is also now available. The port is used by vessels up to 250m in length ranging from small fishing vessels to large cruise liners and everything in between. The new quay development consists of 28 acres of reclaimed land and offers ample and secure laydown facilities on and adjacent to the pier.
The port fully complies with the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code and operates at a security level one. Access to quay is restricted by security gates which are manned during working hours and can be opened with security cards which are provide by the harbour authority or Sinbad Marine Services by prior arrangement.
Fuel, water, ice & provisions are all readily available. Ship repair facilities are excellent with a synchrolift available for vessels up to 37m & 580t. Killybegs boasts a strong local support industry to cater to all ship requirements e.g. electronics, hydraulics, welding etc
There are 3 local airports within 1.5 hours of Killybegs. Belfast international airport is 2.5 hours away & Dublin international airport is 4 hours away
